If you’re planning to build a home or business, now is the perfect time to secure top-tier internet connectivity. By choosing BEC Fiber, you can ensure your new construction benefits from the latest in fiber-optic technology, offering lightning-fast speeds, and unmatched reliability. BEC Fiber traditionally follows the electric utilities; whether your electric is aerial or buried to the home, your fiber typically takes the same route.

When to Apply

For new construction, BEC recommends applying for fiber Internet when you submit your application for electric service.

I Just Applied. What Happens Next?

A Fiber Engineer will contact you to conduct a site survey and design a route to bring fiber to your service location. The engineer will go over all options and potential construction costs.

Buried Construction Preparation

For buried utilities, we require a dedicated conduit (minimum ¾ inch) with a pull string – we will not run fiber in the same conduit as electric. Conduit should be coupled with soft sweeping 90-degree bends to ensure fiber can be pulled through. During the initial site survey, the Fiber Engineers will determine if BEC Fiber can provide ¾ inch conduit and if there will be any cost associated. We recommend placing fiber conduit while electric trench is open.

Prewire your Home

BEC Fiber will run a fiber optic cable during the building process to get fiber to the perfect location without having to run a visible exterior cable. Your builder may offer a wiring package with cables you may not need and oftentimes, these packages do not include a fiber optic cable. Let us save you the trouble by guaranteeing your new build will be fitted with the necessary cabling to ensure the success and reliability of your fiber internet. This service is free of charge! An application will be required before the prewiring can take place.
